|The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
|To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
|I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
|For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
|Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
|For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
|For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
|For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
|Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
|For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
|But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
