Supt. Hewett Richardson Jr.
Pastor Hewett Richardson, Jr. was born in Phoenix, Arizona and is the oldest of 4 sons born to Bishop Hewett Richardson, Sr. and Mother Ola Richardson. He was raised in a Godly home with parents who modeled genuine holiness. Their passion for God is what sparked his hunger for God, from a young age. In fact, he was one of the first 6 members of the Emmanuel Church of God in Christ. He grew in the knowledge of the Lord, accepting Christ and being baptized at the age of 8, and was filled with the Holy Ghost at age 9.
In 1987, he received his Minister’s license, and later, in 1989, became an ordained Elder under the leadership of the late Bishop N.H. Henderson, Prelate of the Texas South Central Jurisdiction. In 1996, Pastor Hewett was appointed Assistant Pastor of Emmanuel COGIC by Senior Pastor/Founder Bishop Richardson.
Pastor Hewett has held several positions in the Texas Central Metropolitan Jurisdiction: First Jurisdictional AIM Chairman (2010 – 2013), Strategic Planning Committee (2014-2016), Program Committee (2017 to present), and Chairman of the Election Committee (2018 to present). He has also served on the Houston Hosting Committee for the 2011 National AIM Convention and was a guest presenter for a Youth Leader’s class during the 2013 National AIM Convention in Baltimore, MD.
In 2011, he was elevated to Pastor of Emmanuel Church of God in Christ by Senior Pastor Bishop Hewett Richardson, Sr., who was Prelate of the Texas Central Metropolitan Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction at the time. The year 2025 will mark his 14th year as Pastor.
In July 2015, Pastor Hewett, began to collaborate with a dedicated group of members from the church and community, and together they formally organized and founded the faith-based Emmanuel Cares Community Development Corporation 501 (c) 3. He currently serves as the Board Chairman. He enjoys working with this dedicated group of volunteers committed to finding ways/resources to help minister to the needs of the community through providing assistance and education/information to youth and adults (wellness, finance, employment, retirement, tutoring, etc).
In 2020, Pastor Hewett was appointed Superintendent of the North Central District by Prelate Bishop Frank E. Fanniel, Sr., of the Texas Central Metropolitan Jurisdiction COGIC. Additionally, in 2025, he was appointed as one of the Administrative Assistants to the Prelate Bishop Frank E. Fanniel, Sr.
He holds a Bachelors of Science in Business Management and a Masters in Educational Leadership. He has had careers as an Accounting/IT Finance Analyst at American General/AIG and as an Educator in the Klein and Humble Independent School Districts, where he served as a teacher and in several campus leadership roles.
Pastor Hewett is a dedicated Pastor and teacher of the Word of God who strives to “rightly divide” the word of truth. He is committed to building a community of believers who are REACHING UP to develop a deeper relationship with God, REACHING IN to share the love of Jesus with others, and REACHING OUT to build the lives of people from the inside out!
